Probably one of the most irritating experiences, and for those of us living in a big city still are, are the slews of people who pass out flyers or pamphlets that are “for a cause.” Personally, I despise this and try to avoid these people as much as I can. It always makes for an awkward situation too. You’re trying so hard to bypass them that you cast your eyes elsewhere, call someone on the phone, or just blatantly ignore them as they’re shoving yet another pamphlet in your face. I’m not trying to play down the importance of what these people are doing: being a promoter is difficult and getting people interested in what the cause is, is even harder.
